They named the house “Blue Sky,” and it became the center for one of the best California watercolor schools. In 1946, Brandt asked Phil Dike, a mentor and fellow artist, if he was interested in forming a summer painting school. The doors opened for the concert at 7:15, leaving you 45 minutes to pick your seats and explore Sherman Gardens. Since this season included 2 concerts here, we had ample time to look around.
